Hello
Hi, I'm Gemma and I'm the founder of Gower Wild Wellbeing.
I am a Conservation Biologist (BScHons), Forest School Leader (L3) and an Advanced Wilderness Therapy practitioner (L3).
My background is two fold; wellness for our bodies and minds and wellness for our land and environment.
I feel it's important to understand that these two things cannot exist separately; to be healthy, we must live in a healthy environment. For us to have the skills, wisdom and energy to care for the environment, we must first be well ourselves. We are inextricably linked to our natural world and dependent upon it for our wellbeing on all levels - for survival, and for physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual health.
Gower Wild Wellbeing is a developing vision which combines these two seemingly separate fields of study; environmentalism and wellbeing. As we work with both adults and children in lots of different ways, and range from holistic retreats to SEN mental health intervention, each session is tailored to meet the needs of the individual or group. We are passionate about accessibility and meeting both adults and youngsters where they are at. For some, ecotherapy may mean chatting whilst learning to coppice, or lay a hedge. For others, it may be more effective to take a therapeutic approach. All offerings have the same important aspect: they occur within a beautiful natural and forested environment and teach us how to connect with and understand our place in nature.
