Welcome to
Fox Cubs!
Forest School for children aged 18 months - 5 years
These weekly sessions are for toddlers and pre-schoolers accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian. They take place in a private woodland site on the grounds of Werganrose Farm, near Killay on Thursday mornings and afternoons between 10.30-12.00 or 1.00-2.30.
Forest School is a child-led learning approach which takes place in a natural, woodland environment, providing opportunities for children to explore, play and learn in a holistic manner. Forest School is a long term process, and our sessions are designed with nature connection at the heart of the programme, encouraging children to cultivate a loving appreciation for the natural world. The sessions will always involve a combination of free play and circle time, various nature based crafts, games, den building and use of rope swings.
Forest School is great for supporting children in developing their motivation, gross and fine motor skills, their ability to manage risks and for increasing confidence and independence along with social and emotional development.
It also gives parents a place and to slow down and focus on being together whilst surrounded by the calming influence of the peaceful woodland.
Fox Cubs Sessions run in half termly blocks (usually 6-7 weeks) and are booked per half term.
Our next block of term time sessions begins on Thursday 5th September and is £63 per child for the full half term. You can choose between morning or afternoon sessions.
Our groups are kept small so we can all get to know each other and have plenty of space to play.
Please note, we can only accommodate one accompanying adult per child. Younger siblings (under 18 months) can come along for free.
Please do get in touch via our ‘Contact’ tab (or social media) if you have any questions or queries before making a booking.
